Commissioning Support Engineer

The Team

Working as part of the Commissioning Team and supported by the wider Starfrost Engineering Contracts team.

The Role

The position involves supporting the commissioning, inspection & maintenance of industrial freezing and chilling equipment within the food processing industry.  The role is varied and challenging, suiting someone with a passion for engineering, travel and professional development.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting Commissioning, inspection, & maintenance of our systems
  • Investigation and resolution of electrical/mechanical faults on customer sites
  • Provide customer support via telephone and email as well as site visits
  • Maintaining customer and supplier relationships
  • Preparation of documentation such as risk assessments, specifications and site report sheets
  • Identify new opportunities for system design and process improvements
  • Machine optimisation, data logging and troubleshooting
  • Frequent travel in the UK and overseas

The Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

  • High standards and a commitment to quality during the completion of every task
  • Methodical approach to problems and resolution
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Experience

  • Multi-skilled (electrical bias)
  • A recognised apprenticeship/qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience within the food industry is preferred
  • A valid UK driving licenceApplications are encouraged from technicians/engineers with experience gained from a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, maintenance, FMCG, electronics, electro-mechanical as well as other high value electronic or electro-mechanical service sectors.

An excellent remuneration package is available including:

  • A competitive salary; £30000 – £40000 per annum, dependent on experience
